A local Morocco travel company
Based in M’hamid El Ghizlane at the edge of the Sahara, we plan private Morocco journeys with direct local knowledge, clear advice and care from the first route idea to the road.
Where we come from
Sahara Explore is rooted in M’hamid El Ghizlane, where the paved road follows the Draa Valley to the edge of Morocco’s desert tracks. Living and working here shapes the way we plan: we know that a Sahara journey is not only a night in a tent, but a chain of real decisions about distance, season, vehicles, camps, comfort and pace.
Our aim is simple: help travelers experience Morocco with more context and less uncertainty. We connect the south we know first-hand with a wider network of guides, drivers, hosts and carefully chosen stays across the country.
Why M’hamid matters
M’hamid is the final oasis town before the remote tracks toward Erg Chegaga. Starting here gives us a practical understanding of the landscape, and an honest view of what a journey into it requires.
01
Erg Lihoudi, near M’hamid, and remote Erg Chegaga are not interchangeable. We explain the access, atmosphere and time each option needs before you choose.
02
Atlas roads, long southern transfers and off-road stages shape the rhythm of a trip. We would rather adjust a route than hide a demanding day behind attractive wording.
03
Private ensuite, private external and shared facilities are different arrangements. The exact camp, bathroom standard, meals and transfer plan belong in your proposal.
What guides us
01
Clear tradeoffs about pace, comfort, access and season.
02
Guides, drivers, cooks, hosts and camp teams close to each place.
03
Routes shaped around your party, not a fixed group departure.
04
Enough time for places to feel meaningful, not merely collected.
How we work
1
Tell us your dates, group, arrival point, interests, preferred comfort and how you feel about long drives, walking or early starts. Uncertainty is welcome; you do not need a finished itinerary.
2
We connect the places geographically, check the travel rhythm and identify where a second night, different stop or alternative desert would make the trip stronger.
3
Your proposal should identify transport, accommodation standard, included meals and activities, payment terms and the operational details that matter to your party.
4
Before departure, we confirm the practical plan and share the information needed for each stage. While you travel, the local team remains connected to the journey.
People behind the journey
Sahara Explore coordinates the full route, then works with guides, drivers, hosts and camp teams whose knowledge belongs to the regions you visit. This keeps one clear planning relationship without pretending that one person can be the expert everywhere.
We do not publish invented biographies or stock team profiles. When a particular guide, vehicle, stay or camp is essential to your trip, it should be confirmed in the proposal rather than implied by a general website page.

What you can expect
Dates, route direction, pace, accommodation level, desert area, activities and room needs can be refined around your party and realistic availability.
The final proposal should state inclusions, exclusions, transport, accommodation standard, meal plan, payment schedule and cancellation conditions.
“Luxury,” “authentic” and “all-inclusive” mean little without specifics. Ask us to define the exact tent facilities, activity, vehicle and service behind each label.
Share dietary allergies, mobility needs, children’s ages, health considerations and room preferences early so we can check suitability rather than assume it.
Responsible travel
Responsible travel is expressed through practical choices: who is involved, how long we stay, what we use and how we behave in someone else’s home or landscape.
