For a first visit we usually recommend the Grand Sahara Loop. It balances culture, Marrakech, kasbahs and Berber villages, with the landscapes people actually come for: the Atlas passes and the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) is accessible, iconic and ideal for first-timers and families. Erg Chegaga is remote and uncrowded u2014 better if you want solitude and don’t mind more hours on the road. We’re happy to help you choose.
Yes u2014 the large majority run privately for your group alone. We also offer small-group departures on selected dates for solo travellers or anyone who enjoys meeting others on the road.

Spring (Marchu2013May) and autumn (Septemberu2013November) give the most comfortable temperatures. Winter is cool and pleasant in the desert, with cold nights. Summer is hot in the Sahara but very manageable in the mountains and on the coast.
