Clear information before you decide.

These conditions explain how Sahara Explore bookings and tailor-made travel arrangements work. Your written itinerary and confirmation remain the definitive record of the services, price and booking details agreed with you.

How booking works

Send your dates, group size and travel ideas. We prepare a private itinerary and itemised quote, then revise it with you. Your booking is confirmed only after the stated deposit is received and we send written confirmation.

Deposits

The deposit secures the agreed camps, accommodation, vehicles and other services. It is generally 20% for tours booked more than 60 days before departure and 30% for shorter-notice or peak-date bookings. Deposits are non-refundable except where this policy specifically provides otherwise.

Paying the balance

The balance is normally paid before the tour begins, in cash on arrival in euros or Moroccan dirhams. Bank transfer or card payment may be arranged in advance when agreed in writing.

Cancellation by you

Cancellation must be sent in writing. More than 30 days before departure: the deposit is retained. From 15–30 days: 50% of the total price. From 7–14 days: 75% of the total price. Less than 7 days before departure, or a no-show: 100% of the total price. If we recover supplier costs, we will return the recoverable amount rather than keep money that was not spent.

Cancellation by us

We cancel only when necessary, normally for safety. If we cancel for a reason other than an event outside our reasonable control, you may receive a full refund, including the deposit, or move the booking without a change fee. For events outside our control, we refund amounts we can recover from suppliers.

Changing your dates

A date-change request made more than 30 days before departure has no Sahara Explore change fee, subject to availability. Within 30 days, we will move the booking where possible, but unrecoverable supplier charges may apply and will be passed on at cost.

Travel insurance

Travel insurance is recommended for every traveller. Consider cover for medical care, repatriation, cancellation, interruption and all itinerary activities. Check activity and altitude exclusions carefully, particularly for camel riding, quad biking and mountain trekking.

Changes during the journey

Weather, road conditions or sandstorms may require a route or activity change. The guide will offer the closest reasonable alternative, and safety decisions are final. If a change materially lowers our recoverable trip cost, we will refund the difference.

Unused services

No refund is available for a confirmed service a traveller chooses not to use after the journey has begun, including leaving early or skipping an included activity.
