Choose with confidence

Read only the guides your route needs

01

Define the season

Start with weather by region, not a single national temperature. This determines which landscapes and activities are comfortable.

02

Choose a realistic axis

Compare available days with road time, then select the north, south, coast or a focused cross-country route.

03

Prepare the details

Use the packing, family and responsible-travel guides after the route is clear, then request a proposal with your constraints.

Where the guides start

Season, which desert, and how long — the guides settle these three.

When to travel

Season changes more in Morocco than most first-time visitors expect. Desert nights turn genuinely cold in winter while midsummer days limit walking, and Atlas passes can close with snow. Choosing the month first, then the route, avoids planning a trip the weather will not allow.

Which desert

Erg Chigaga and Erg Chebbi are not interchangeable. Chebbi near Merzouga is reached on paved road and suits shorter trips; Chigaga is remote, reached only by 4×4 beyond M’hamid, and asks for more time in exchange for far fewer people.

How long to stay

Route length is the constraint most travellers underestimate. Morocco’s distances are long and the interest is spread out, so the honest question is not how much you can fit in, but which regions you are willing to leave for another trip.
